Cashback credit cards

How they work

Every time you spend on your credit card a proportion (usually 0.5 or 1%) is effectively refunded to your card for you to take and spend as you please.

For example, if you spend £100 on your card and your cashback rate is 1%, you will have earned £1 in total cashback.

There are also cards which offer rewards instead of cash. For every £1 you spend you earn a set number of points which can be redeemed against various gifts and vouchers.
