Affinity credit cards

An affinity card says something about you. When you hand it over at the checkout it will clearly define something about you.

For instance, you might want to take out a card in support of your local football team. Your card will display your team colours and a proportion of your spend may even be given to your club by the credit card provider.

What types of card are available?

There are many cards available including football club credit cards, charity cards, cards for membership associations like the ramblers or similar organisations.

Who can apply?

The criteria for application is usually exactly the same as for a standard credit card. Most of these affinity cards are underwritten by a major bank or finace institution and they will apply the same criteria for acceptance across all of their cards.

In other words it helps if you are in full time employment with a clean credit history, but there are companies who will lend to people with credit problems.
